South German Staunton Chess Set, ca. 1900-1930
Early 20th century wooden chess set from South Germany, ca. 1900 - 1930. King size is 65 mm. I particularly like the bishops' finials, which resemble spiked helmets from the German Empire era. Unfortunately, many pieces are in a rather poor condition with a lot of chips and dents and a rather worn colouring.
