An exhibition catalogue of a joint exhibition by the Bavarian National Museum in Munich/Germany and the Germanic National Museum in Nuremberg/Germany with exhibits on loan by the Munich City Museum, the Toy Museum of the City of Nuremberg and the Museum Lydia Bayer. The chess sets depicted in the book were exhibited in the Bavarian National Museum from 11 June to 31 July 1988 and in the Germanic National Museum from 20 August to 2 October 1988.
