German Staunton Chess Set, E. H. Schütze, 1907

A beautiful example of a German Staunton chess set made by E. H. Schütze. The pieces are made of boxwood and ebony. The set is nicely weighted with lead inlays, which together with the king size of 9 cm makes it a perfect playing set. Everything came in the original box stamped on the inside with the maker's name and with pencil inscriptions of the owner's name together with "Wildungen, Somer 1907" allowing for an exact dating.
