Austro-Hungarian Marquetry Chess Board, 1920

Austro-Hungarian Chess Board with wonderful marquetry inlaid wood, including a very lively fiery red-brown burl wood. One side is decorated with wonderful flower ornaments and shows a picture of a woman. The other side is a chess board with ornamental decorations on the sides. According to the seller, the board was custom made for one of his ancestors in 1920. I acquired it together with an Austro-Hungarian Biedermeier Chess Set. Overall size is 73 x 50 cm, The chess board is 32 x 32 cm with a square size of 4 cm.
