Russian Chess Set, Club Size, ca. 1880-1920
Russian chess set presumably from the late 19th or early 20th century. Pieces made of wood, one side natural with a beautiful patina gained by age, the other stained in dark brown. Despite the very slim shapes with elongated stems, the pieces are very playable due to the broad bases, which are weighted with lead. King size is 10.5 cm.
