Another magnificent addition to my Uhlig collection. This one is significantly larger than the other sets with the King standing at 85 mm. The set dates to around 1900. This was the peak time of chess production at K.P.Uhlig in Borstendorf/Germany. The material used is an almost ivory-like bone, very thick, heavy, solid and magnificently polished. One side stained in black, the other left natural.
