 American Catalin Chess Set by E.S.Lowe, ca. 1946

A chess set by E.S.Lowe with a king size of 3.75". The pieces are made of catalin, which was introduced by Lowe in 1946, i.e. right after WWII. The set comes in a velvet-lined felt padded Lowe Presentation Case with an embroidered Lowe logo in the upper left corner. Duncan Pohl provides some valuable insights on this set in his book on American Chess Sets. The colour combination is Ivory & Red, also referred to as Butterscotch & Red.
