French Chess Set, "Régence" Pattern, 1900-1930
French chess set turned from boxwood and ebony, presumably from the early 20th century. The Kings with "Tulip Crowns" typical for Régence sets. The Knights with glass eyes and of very dominant height. Kings stand at approximately 3", the Knights just a tad shorter. The set is shown on a boxwood and mahogany roll up board of approximately the same period.
