The Maryhill Museum of Art in Goldendale/WA houses a famous collection of more than one hundred chess sets, which was started by the Museum's first director, Clifford Dolph. As the Museum's Curator of Education, the author of the publication, Colleen Schafroth, today's director of the Museum, devoted her time to a complete reinstallation of the chess set collection in 1987, which is depicted in this exhibition catalogue.
