German "Onion Top" Chess Set (Papier maché knights), ca. 1900
Another special and rare onion top chess set with peculiar knights probably made of papier maché. The pieces are made of wood, one side ebonized, and unweighted. King size is 9.75 cm (3.83"), thus slightly smaller than my other papiermaché knight set.
