Jaques Staunton Chess Set, 3.5", ca. 1885-1890
3.5" Jaques Staunton chess set in boxwood and ebony dating to ca. 1885-1890. Both kings stamped "Jaques London" on the side of the base. Rooks and knights with king side stamping. The set is not weighted and, unfortunately, did not come with an original box. It is a lovely set not to be missed nonetheless, in particular as the antique boxwood has developed a beautiful patina over the decades.
